Beyond Hot

Uncategorized Aug 30, 2017

I live in Arizona. I looked at the weather forecast not too long ago and was shocked that it was going to be 110 degrees!  In fact, it was going to be over 105 degrees for the next 10 days and probably for the rest of the month!

I must admit, I do like it ‘hot’, but I have to say I have never lived in a place where the temperature gets as hot as this. Funny though, as time passes you adjust and I have come to realize that ‘hot’ is a relative term.

If you live in Anchorage, Alaska or Hell, Norway – (and yes, there is such a place, which by the way is well known to freeze over) 70 degrees is going to feel like a scorching ‘hot’ day in June. Whereas, if you happen to live in Kuwait City, Kuwait, Bangkok, Thailand or Phoenix, Arizona, 70 is going to be a chilly day in July.

However, there are some things that remain constant no matter where you are.  Today, wherever you are in the world, if you put your hand in fire and keep it there, you will get burned. If you throw a ball into the air, it will come straight down. Water will still be hot at 211 degrees in Anchorage or Kuwait City. If you hate or cannot forgive your neighbor in Bangkok or Phoenix, you will not receive forgiveness of your own sins - wherever you are on the globe.  Such is the nature of the natural, physical and spiritual laws of life by which we are all bound - no exceptions.

Speaking of constants, have you heard about the 212 Degrees Principle by Sam Parker and Mac Anderson?  According to Parker & Anderson, water is hot at 211 degrees but with an increase of just one single degree something extraordinary happens. The tangible becomes intangible and the impossible happens. When water boils at 212 degrees it produces steam.  Steam can power a locomotive. The 212 Degree Principle is about going to the next level. It’s about going beyond what we often think is possible from a human perspective.

Minds For Eternity is all about living life ‘beyond boiling point’. Living for more than the here and now. It’s about living with eternity in mind. Thinking beyond the tangible to the intangible.  Recognizing that which is visible is temporary and that which is unseen lasts forever is when living beyond boiling point becomes possible.

I want to challenge you to live beyond the everyday ‘hot’ points of your life with its challenges, temptations, distractions and defeats. Very often, in the heat of life, your calling, your dreams, your visions and your destiny can look as if they are going to warp, melt and disintegrate right before your eyes. But keep going with that extra degree of courage and faith.

Are you ready to live beyond the hot points of your life and finally stand up and make your God inspired contribution to the world?  What’s the temperature looking like in your personal, professional and spiritual life over the next 30 days?

212 degrees looks pretty good to me, what about you?
